On the buses

i first met paul as he entred the clocking in room at lee valley. As soon as we nade eye contact i just knew we would be friends. And we were. He was great to be around, always a twinkle in his eye,  the beginings of  a smile that you knew was coming. Always upbeat, always had time for everyone. He loved early shifts, i was never keen. So he had all my earlies and i, his lates. The photos of him are how i remember him. We lost touch for a few years, i often thought of phoning him and did. But he never answered. As usual my timing was out. His WhatsApp profile said"sleeping", that didn't fill me with confidence. Then he phoned one day, fantastic, told me the situation, i came to see him 3 days later. We had a great day, a good chat and made plans for him to visit and stay a while with me on my boat. Was soo looking forward to that. So my man, you are pain free now and at rest were all gutted that you passed , we so wanted more time with you. You are the best man ive met in my life and as everyone, will miss you terribly. One more thing. If i spent a day in makeover and makeup, you would still look smarter than me. Rest easy my friend, I'll see you in a while.❤️
