Thoughts

I met Paul last April when he became a friend to my wife, Caroline whilst they were both in hospital. I may have only known him a short time but we had many good times and I have great memories. Always the life and soul of the party whenever we went out and loved his anecdotes and cherish the many stories he told me of his life. He was had an amazing character despite not being well and a true friend that you could trust and rely on. I am especially grateful for the friendship and support he gave to Caroline. We both miss him and are thankful for the time we shared with him. I also honour him for the service he gave to our country. Paul, you can rest in peace now.

Paul was without a doubt the most genuine person you could ever meet. He was kind, loving, thoughtful, selfless and humble with a personality and charisma that made Paul a true gent and I count myself lucky to have had such an amazing friendship with him. He had a great sense of humour and was always there to listen or take the mickey which was usually the case. His smile and laughter was so infectious it would brighten anyone’s bad day and turn it into a good day. Even though our friendship was short the bond between us was so strong we could read each other like a book. Omg did we laugh together, go on little adventures, park up and chat about life, play jokes on people, sit up all night and chat for hours and hours, day in day out, we just never seemed to run out of things to say or talk about. We did try and be serious but tbh it wasn’t really in either of our natures. We were like a couple of school kids constantly giggling. Paul was loved and welcomed into my family and friends homes and events from birthdays, BBQ’s, garden parties, Christmas and we often met up a few times a week and go to the local for a little tipple or 2 or 3….. a shot of black sambuca was the usual tipple of the night. Paul’s energy was so infectious and even on his bad days he’d always still try and put a smile on and take each day as it comes and be positive about life and never complaining. The stories he told me of his past experiences amazes me how brave, strong and courageous he was and how honoured and blessed I am to have known such a hero like Paul and call him my BFF. Paul you are truly missed and not a day goes by you’re not in my thoughts and I will always remember and treasure the endless fun times and memories we shared together.
